If you look around, I do a lot of site updates. Well that’s thanks to very loyal clients. Pat Hartley, MBA of Accounting On The Go! is one such client. Most recently we needed to not only freshen up her site but make it mobile responsive. For this project I adopted the Genesis Framework for this project and things went really well.
I would like to point out that I established Pat’s branding back in 2006—almost TEN years ago! Her branding foundation which consists of a logo, fonts, color palette, message and tone have not changed much at all. My goal in the design process is always to create classic elements that can stand up over the test of time so I can revive them every now and then. I believe this is her third site using the same branding elements. Each time we do a redesign I know it unnerves her a bit at first—only because she has gotten very positive feedback from her students, colleagues, alliances and affiliates. But the compliments keep coming. Over the years Pat has been recognized for professionalism and expertise in her industry by none other than Intuit. She has been invited to speak at various conferences on a wide number of topics including: accounting, opportunities for women in business, and on the importance of branding.
So I must have done something right.
Branding isn’t something that normally comes with a web site. But once you have it established you can apply it over and over again. Yes branding is an additional cost but my time is worth it, just ask Pat.
Below is a quick review of the branding I created for Accounting on the Go! A sort of Before and After demonstration of how long great design elements can last.
