SEO is not my thang…
Many years ago I used to clean houses. When I first started out I considered telling my new customers, “I don’t do windows.” But then I learned how to clean windows from a friend who was a professional window washer and just did them—after all I needed the money.
These days, I try to focus on what I do best which is building WordPress solutions and design. I can offer some opinions on SEO strategies but for the most part if you are my client, I will defer to my Trusted SEO Experts to advise you. I spell things out about what I do and don’t offer in my FREE Creative Brief and FREE Website Planning questionnaires.
One thing I thought I would point out to you in the daunting task of doing your own SEO is keeping tabs on your visitors. That’s a Google Analytics task. But if you want to know what search engines are visiting you and how to get them to want to visit you more, you need to also look at Google Webmaster Tools. Do the math.
If you want to rank higher you probably want to look at the Webmaster Tools first. The search engines index you. Then you get ranked and found. Google Analytics will tell you the who, what, where and when about your visitors so you can help them to stay longer and perhaps convert them into customers. But If you aren’t using both tools you are probably putting the cart before the horse.
Even if you don’t want to do your own SEO, as a site owner you should know the difference.
